State of SYNCD #001
A little over a week ago, SYNCD was just an idea, a logo, and a lot of conversations.
Today, there are 16 users on the platform, 10 NFC cards in circulation, and over 350 taps recorded.
For something that's only just started finding its feet, I'm pretty happy with that.
The numbers so far
๐ฑ 16 users registered
๐ณ 10 NFC cards live
๐ 354 total taps
๐ 25 contacts saved
๐ 13 Apple Wallet adds
๐ Activity across 19 locations worldwide
Pilot-wise, we've now filled 9 of the 20 available places, leaving 11 spots remaining before we close the first intake.
The bit I'm most interested in
The tap count is nice.
The global map is cool.
But the stat I keep coming back to is 25 contact saves.
Because that's the whole point.
A business card isn't successful because somebody tapped it.
It's successful because somebody decided you were worth keeping.
Seeing those saves come through tells me people are actually using SYNCD in real conversations, meetings, networking events and introductions.
That's exactly what I hoped would happen.
What we're working on next
Over the coming weeks I'll be:
๐ ๏ธ Refining the onboarding experience
๐ Expanding analytics and reporting
๐ณ Shipping more NFC cards
๐ฑ Improving the Apple & Google Wallet experience
๐ Continuing to work closely with pilot users before opening things up further
Building in public
One thing I've always enjoyed is sharing the journey, not just the destination.
So every so often I'll post a State of SYNCD update with the real numbers, the wins, the mistakes and whatever we've learned along the way.
For now, thank you to everyone who's joined the pilot, tapped a card, shared feedback, or simply shown an interest.
It's early days, but it's been a fun first week.
